Volunteer

Each year hundreds of volunteers support Community Services Agency of Mountain View and Los Altos in nearly every program and department. Opportunities range from working in our onsite food pantry, to escorting homebound senior to important appointments. Volunteering is a great way to get involved in the needs of your own community. We have individual and group opportunities for ages 12 years and older.  Sign up today!

Immediate Needs:

Senior Services Companions  (open)
Senior Outreach Escorts do one or more of the following:

  • Provide escorted transportation to doctor and dental appointments.
  • Grocery shop for homebound senior twice a month.
  • Be a friendly visitor to homebound frail elderly in the community once a month.

Senior Nutrition Program Server (open)

 




Food and Nutrition Center Assistant (filled)

  • Help sort and shelve donated food, assist clients with their food selection and help with clean-up of food sorting and distribution areas.

Emergency Assistance Clerical Support (filled)

  • Make copies of flyers, fold brochures, assist in file maintenance, help with data entry (as necessary), and help update resource handbook.
  • Flexible schedule Monday-Friday.

Alpha Omega Homeless Services Outreach Volunteer (filled)

  • Alpha Omega Outreach Volunteers are focused on providing street outreach, emotional support, and referrals to community partners for homeless individuals and families living in the Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills communities.
  • The Outreach Volunteer works as a team member with other staff and volunteers, providing input on how to best serve our clients.
  • Outreach is conducted within the cities of Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills. Possible locations may include commercial, residential, and retail sites, parks, and other public places.

Group Opportunities

There are many ways for groups to get involved throughout the year:

  • Make cards or placemats for the elderly at our senior lunch program.
  • Arrange an ice-cream social for the senior lunch program.
  • Knit blankets or scarves for our low income and homeless clients
  • Assemble toiletry kits for our homeless clients (see our wishlist)
  • Organize a toy or food drive (see our wishlist)
