CSA is proud to celebrate Executive Director Tom Myers 25th Anniversary in that role. His dedication and leadership have significantly impacted the lives of thousands in the Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills communities.
As a young man, Myers served in the Peace Corps in West Africa and helped the LGBTQ+ community at great personal risk. After returning to the US, he worked as a community organizer during the AIDS crisis in the Bay Area. In 1999, he returned to his hometown of Mountain View-Los Altos to serve at the helm of Community Services Agency, where he has been ever since.
Myers has guided CSA through pivotal moments, including the Dot Com Bust, the Great Recession, and most recently, the pandemic. Under his leadership, CSA has distributed millions of dollars in rental assistance, ensuring that families remain housed and maintain access to essential services. CSA now provides safety net services to 6,000 people annually.
In addition to his work at CSA, Myers serves on the boards of Hope’s Corner and Alta Housing, furthering his commitment to addressing housing insecurity and food access. Over the years, he has served on many task forces and nonprofit boards, including as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce and as the first Chair of the Mountain View Human Relations Committee.
Myers’ empathy, dedication, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life have made him an invaluable asset. As CSA celebrates Myers’ remarkable 25 years of service, the organization looks forward to continuing to build on his legacy.
The anniversary will be celebrated with a small gathering of staff, board, and community members on Thursday, October 24th. Supervisor Joe Simitian will address the gathering.
