Community Services Agency distributes over a ton of food each work day to low income individuals and families. Our “food pantry” expands limited budgets so people don’t have to choose between putting food on the table or paying for unexpected medical expense and/or car repairs, as well as the basics: school supplies, transportation to a job, rent, and utilities.
We are in need of healthy and nutritious items, especially the following:
- high-protein food (canned tuna, canned salmon, canned chicken or shelf-stable milk).
- boxes of cereal, oatmeal, pop-top canned food items (fruits, vegetables, meat, etc.), pop-top fruits, vegetables, fruits, flour, sugar, oil, condiments, salad dressings, and so on.
Please note that due to the current COVID-19 situation, we are not able to accept donations of fruits or vegetables at this time.
Due to health and safety considerations, we can only accept non-perishable, unopened food. We regret that we are not able to accept unopened food left over from parties or events (e.g., cakes, sandwiches, salads, etc.).

The Holiday Sharing Program is an opportunity for us to take a break from our own hectic lives and experience the true meaning of the season by sharing and helping others in our community.
This year’s Holiday Sharing Program has two components: 1) a special holiday food distribution for all clients and 2) a holiday gift program for seniors, unhoused clients and families with children. We are partnering with the community to secure gift card donations and philanthropic contributions to support the program. Our fundraising goal for this year’s program is $35,000.
Holiday Food Distribution: This year, we anticipate serving 650 households during our holiday food distribution in December. For this program component, we are requesting $50 gift cards from Safeway to replace the special holiday bags we have given out in the past. This change is due to the safety protocols CSA has put into place to avoid virus transmission.Click here to make a donation to purchase $50 Safeway gift cards.
Also due to COVID concerns, we are no longer able to accept any perishable food donations. Click here for a list of non-perishable items that would make our clients’ year-end holidays a little brighter. We encourage community members to drop off food donations outside of regular food distribution hours to avoid parking challenges. You can also call us at (650) 968-0836, ext. 100 to arrange for a contactless drop-off.
Holiday Gift Distribution: This year, CSA will be giving out $25 Target gift cards to nearly 1,800 children, seniors and unhoused clients. Please note that due to storage and safety concerns, we are no longer able to accept toys, clothing or any other in-kind donations. We encourage supporters to donate $25 Target gift cards directly to the agency or click here to make a donation toward purchasing them.
Questions? We have answers! Please contact us at (650) 968-0836, ext. 100.
