Volunteer with Seniors

Senior Services Program

When seniors receive a combination of social and medical care that is integrated and guided by a case manager, they experience fewer hospitalizations and can maintain their independence for longer. Volunteers are essential to helping seniors remain independent in their own homes with dignity. Opportunities include general escort, grocery store escort, medical appointment escort, translator, and Friendly Visitor. Volunteers in this program must be age 21+, pass a background check, and submit all onboarding forms and a copy of their driver’s license to the volunteer coordinator. The program operates Monday through Friday, with hours varying.

Senior Nutrition Program

Seniors who receive adequate nutrition are more likely to maintain their independence, mobility, and overall quality of life. The Senior Nutrition Program aims to combat food insecurity in seniors with the help of volunteers. Volunteers assist with tasks including assisting kitchen staff, serving lunch, and helping register seniors who are dining in. Volunteers must be aged 16+, submit all onboarding forms, and commit to volunteering for a minimum of 3 months. The volunteering hours are from 11am to 12:30pm, Monday through Friday, at the Mountain View Senior Center.
