We are delighted to honor Foothills Congregational Church (FCC) as one of our 2020 Hometown Heroes. FCC shares many core values with Community Services Agency – both organizations strive to create a friendly, caring, and supportive community that helps those in need. A goal held sacred by the church is for congregants to truly live out their faith.

We are delighted to honor Tom Smith as one of our 2020 Hometown Heroes. Tom embodies the best of community volunteerism and leadership. Over the years, Tom has been involved with the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, serving as president in 1998-99, and the Los Altos United Methodist Church (LAUMC) where he and his wife Karen are active members. In 2016, Karen and Tom received the Chamber’s coveted Walter & Marie Singer award given “to those exhibiting community service, generosity and commitment to business.”
Since the pandemic began in mid- March, CSA has had to pivot agency operations to meet increasing community need.
Overall, we have seen a 76% increase in the number of households served compared to the same period last year. That translates into over 1,000 new households who have signed up for services including groceries, rental assistance and more.
