On Sunday, October 15, CSA’s Young Professional group hosted the 5th annual Empty Glasses wine tasting fundraiser at the picturesque Portola Winery. We got lucky with an afternoon of perfect weather! Here’s a recap of the event, by the numbers:

4: number of delicious wines we tasted – 1 white wine, 1 rose, and 2 red wines.

8: items that were won at the silent auction, all generously donated by local Bay Area businesses and organizations. Some of the items include a beautiful necklace, gift cards to local cafes, theater tickets, a swag bag and month long membership to the local F45 gym, and baseball tickets for the Oakland A’s.

3: number of inspiring speakers. CSA staff member Brandi started us off with a touching speech about her prior work in the public school system and her current work at CSA. Then we heard from Lynette who taught us about AVID’s partnership with CSA and the way their organization supports high school students on their path to college. Finally, former board member and current city council member Emily spoke about how important CSA is to Mountain View as a whole.

52: number of attendees. We were so happy to have local friends, current and former CSA board members, friends from out of town, family members, and community leaders in attendance at the event!

$8553: total amount of money raised for CSA, including generous donations from our sponsors, ticket sales, and our portion of the proceeds from wine sales.

We’d like to thank our sponsors for both the monetary and in-kind donations to support this event and CSA – Sutter Health, Stanford Health Care, El Camino Health, Home Instead Sunnyvale, Recology, Wilson Sonsini Foundation, Paul Davis, Tom Myers & Hart Sutanto, and Tom & Karen Smith.

Hope to see you at Empty Glasses 2024!
